Agents curse MYOB glitches.
Australasian Business Intelligence, August, 2001
Aug 10, 2001 (BRW
ABIX via COMTEX) -- A number of tax agents in Australia are experiencing problems with the MYOB software. The extent of the problems prompted the Australian Taxation Office to allow the submission of Business Activity Statements (BAS) to be delayed until 27 August 2001. The original deadline for the submission of the statements was 13 August 2001. A chartered accountant in Melbourne (Victoria), Michael Raftopoulos, says that the service centre of MYOB in Australia is not sufficiently staffed to cope with demand. The senior tax counsel for CPA Australia, Paul Drum, says that there is a possibility that class action litigation will be submitted against MYOB because of the high level of complaints.
