Trust in short supply in Australian offices.
Australasian Business Intelligence, August, 2001
Aug 21, 2001 (The Australian Financial Review
ABIX via COMTEX) -- The results of a new study into the modern Australian workplace were released in mid-August 2001. Monash University professor, James Sarros, directed the research, which was carried out jointly with the Australian Institute of Management. The study found that trust in the workplace is closely linked to leadership qualities such as mentoring, role modelling, caring for staff and motivation. Entitled "Leadership, organisational culture and job outcomes in Australian enterprises", the study concluded that the promotion of trust in the Australian workplace is something that needs to be taught.
