ABIX via COMTEX) -- A number of Australians are considering taking up a broadband Internet connection. Unfortunately broadband connections tend to be expensive and have also proved to be unreliable at times. Australian consumers can choose from number of different broadband services, such as Cable & Wireless Optus's cable modem solution and the asymmetric digital subscriber line (ADSL) platform from Pacific Internet. Steven Turvey, a journalist with "PC Magazine Australia" is evaluating broadband services from Cable & Wireless and Pacific Internet to determine data transmission speeds and service disruptions.
