Workers don't trust bosses.

ABIX via COMTEX) -- A survey of 2,000 Australian executives has revealed an endemic mistrust of senior management by workers. The study was undertaken by the Australian Institute of Management and Monash University. It found that workers in large companies, particularly those where downsizing had already occurred, were deeply mistrustful of their managers. Researchers say that the key factor behind the finding is management style. Businesses which foster a more collaborative or inclusive approach, such as small businesses, engender greater trust and loyalty in their staff. Worker productivity, performance and staff retention rates all improve under such management styles.
