Microsoft drops local ASP plan.

ABIX via COMTEX) -- Microsoft Australia launched its bCentral Australia web site in May 2001. In November 2001, the company planned to launched a subscription-based software sales service through the web site. However, according to a company spokesman, Catherine Reynolds, the web site has remained virtually static. Microsoft Australia has no plans to offer software by subscription until bCentral 2.0 is released in the US. Reynolds says that Microsoft had planned to launch bCentral internationally but has changed its mind after the high technology crash in mid-April 2000.
