Sep 26, 2001 (The Sydney Morning Herald

ABIX via COMTEX) -- F2, the Internet arm of Australia's John Fairfax Holdings, is about to join an interactive television (TV) trial. The deal with Australian telco, Cable & Wireless Optus, will be officially announced in late September 2001. F2 will provide Optus's interactive viewers with a reworked version of its Domain real estate web site. F2 sees interactive TV as another platform from which it could derive a revenue stream. Optus began its interactive TV trial in June 2001. The trial of 1,000 households will continue until the end of 2001. Optus's new parent, Singapore Telecommunications, is also conducting interactive TV trials in Singapore.
