Queensland - ABIX via COMTEX) -- Holden Australia is set to launch the Commodore four wheel drive (4WD), or "soft roader", by early 2003. Peter Hanenburger, Holden president, says that the new car should enable the company to lift its market share. The Holden 4WD is likely to compete with the Volvo Cross Country and the Subaru Outback. According to Hanenburger, the new vehicle will raise Commodore production figures by approximately 25,000 units. Ford Australia is also considering the development of a 4WD vehicle.
