NRMA off target, says better luck next time.

ABIX via COMTEX) -- NRMA Insurance reported a net profit of $A143 million for the 2001 financial year. This was well below the forecast $A272 million, largely due to weak investment markets. Shares in the Australian insurer slipped $A0.02 to close at $A3.27 on 31 August 2001, as analysts welcomed the $A88 million insurance profit. NRMA Insurance declared a final divided of $A0.06, bringing the full-year, franked dividend to $A0.10. At the same time, Suncorp-Metway announced that Australia's competition watchdog had approved its purchase of AMP's stake in an insurance joint venture with the Royal Automobile Club of Queensland.
