ABIX via COMTEX) -- Increased consumer protection was the theme of policy announcements by the Australian Labor Party on 3 October 2001. Labelling of genetically modified food, a "cooling off" period for consumers who sign sales contracts, and curbing credit offered by telcos were among Labor's policy plans.
