Olsen moves to put Adelaide on Ansett route.

ABIX via COMTEX) -- The Government of South Australia is seeking ways of having Adelaide included as a destination on reinstated Ansett flights. A spokesman for the government said there had been talks with the administrators of Ansett over the Adelaide routes which the government considers profitable, particularly the one between Adelaide and Melbourne. In the meantime, Garuda Airlines started flying between Adelaide and Melbourne to bridge the gap. Qantas had Australian unions up in arms as it started using Air Canada planes and crew it leased to help meet local demand. The unions said Qantas should have leased Ansett planes and crews instead, but a deal along those lines broke down.
