Business Services Industry
ASX prepared for the worst.
Australasian Business Intelligence, October, 2001
Oct 2, 2001 (The Age
ABIX via COMTEX) -- Jeff Olsen, Australian Stock Exchange (ASX) production services manager, is proud of the ASX approach to technology. The ASX, according to Olsen, is no longer dependent on technology, rather its business services and technology are indivisible. The disaster recovery systems of the ASX reflect this relationship. Twice in the last decade, ASX disaster recovery systems have been called upon when fire and flooding
angered trading. In both situations, trading was uninterrupted. Current disaster recovery systems are tested regularly, more particularly for staff response. The tests have, however, allowed for refinement of the systems.
