Activist investor turns political.
Australasian Business Intelligence, October, 2001
Oct 29, 2001 (The West Australian
ABIX via COMTEX) -- A total of 58,000 investors in Western Australia (WA) are disgruntled about taxation rulings and will have a political impact. Geoff Henderson is one investor in a tax-effective scheme dissatisfied with rulings by the Australian Taxation Office (ATO). He is leading the Australians for Fair Government party, formed from groups representing the investors, which has already crusaded against the ATO. Henderson has nominated for the Moore electorate. Unofficially, the group is running another candidate in Tangney, and two for the senate.
