Have I got a great story for you - Rivkin on charge of insider trading.
Australasian Business Intelligence, November, 2001
Nov 24, 2001 (The Daily Telegraph
ABIX via COMTEX) -- Rene Rivkin appeared undaunted in late November 2001, despite facing an insider trading charge. The high-profile stockbroker told shareholders at the Rivkin Financial Services annual general meeting that the charge related to a transaction that netted him only $A412. At issue is his buying and selling of Qantas Airways shares between April and May 2001. The Australian Securities & Investments Commission (ASIC) confirmed that Rivkin was facing a charge of insider trading. He will appear in court on 11 December 2001. Rivkin said ASIC had been unsuccessfully trying to "get" him for years and he is confident of beating the charge.
