ABIX via COMTEX) -- "BRW" magazine ranks AMP as the number one company in Australia in its Top 1,000 list of companies for 2000-2001. The list was compiled by IBISWorld. As well as using released and available financial information on the companies, IBISWorld made calculated assessments for some areas where information was not available. Tattersall's Holdings and the Commonwealth Bank of Australia are in the top 10 for the first time. The second position is held by the National Australia Bank. The third position is held by News Corporation and the fourth position is held by Coles Myer. The fifth position is held by Telstra Corporation.
