ABIX via COMTEX) -- The New South Wales (NSW) Police $A22m computer system is having significant problems. The report to Parliament of the NSW Auditor-General, Bob Sendt, lists a number of failings since SAP of Germany won the contract to install the Solution for Technological Administration of Resources (STAR) system, with Deloitte Consulting in a sub-contractor role. Sendt said STAR had failed to effectively perform bank reconciliations for more than a year. A fraudulent payment, involving about $A25,000, was left undetected for more than 12 months.
