ABIX via COMTEX) -- Australian telecommunications company, Telstra, signed a deal with its competitors on 7 December 2001. The last obstacle to delivery of competitive digital subscriber line (DSL) broadband services has finally been removed. All negotiating parties agreed on the pricing of access to the unconditioned local loop services. It took a year to reach a compromise in the long process of negotiation initiated by the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission, which acted as an arbiter.
