ABIX via COMTEX) -- The Colorado Group is a top fashion retailer in Australia. On 11 December 2001, it was reported that it is in discussions to buy the privately-owned Diana Ferrari footwear brand. The purchase price is thought to be $A50 million. The founder of Diana Ferrari, John Kirkhope, said that he wants to remain with the business after the sale. Colorado recently acquired the Melbourne fashion chain, Palmer Corporation. Kirkhope has opened two Diana Ferrari retail stores, one in Maribyrnong and one in Carlton.
