Australia Post into digital certificates.
Australasian Business Intelligence, January, 2002
Jan 18, 2002 (The Australian Financial Review
ABIX via COMTEX) -- Australia Post has achieved accreditation as a digital certificate issuer. By the end of 2002, the service is expected to be available in 400 post offices around Australia. Australia Post originally outlined its KeyPOST Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) plans five years ago. PKI technology has been recognised for some time as the key enabler for electronic commerce and is already in place at the Australian Taxation Office. Australia Post is now accredited as a Registration Authority, which means it can offer an over-the counter authentication service for digital certificate applicants.
