Pitt the gamekeeper.
Australasian Business Intelligence, February, 2002
Feb 16, 2002 (The Economist
ABIX via COMTEX) -- In May 2001, Harvey Pitt was nominated as chairman of the US Securities & Exchange Commission (SEC). As a lawyer, Pitt often represented some of the biggest rogues on Wall Street. Pitt also opposed the ban on auditors selling non-audit activities to their clients. It is possible that the collapse of Enron has provided Pitt with a change to lay out his agenda sooner than he would have otherwise done. So far he has proved that having a detailed knowledge of the law makes him the right person to uphold it. Those who say that Pitt will be easy going may be yet confounded.
