ABIX via COMTEX) -- Hau Lee and his colleagues at Stanford University are researching ways to speed-up supply chains. Lee wants to find ways to constantly monitor and improve the whole supply chain system. According to the AMR Research analyst, Bruce Richardson, by supplying algorithms to balance all the variables in the supply chain, such as customer demand, product prices and stock levels, the whole system can be radically improved. Many companies are willing to pay to have their supply chains improved. Sun Microsystems, for one, used to get its demand forecasts wrong between 40 and 60 of the time.
