Corrigan may revisit deal with Virgin.
Australasian Business Intelligence, February, 2002
Feb 28, 2002 (The Australian Financial Review
ABIX via COMTEX) -- Australian transport group, Patrick Corporation, and Virgin Blue recommenced talks on 27 February 2002. Virgin Blue's CEO, Brett Godfrey, said that any agreement between the discount airline and Patrick concerning Ansett would be quite different from earlier proposals. It is believed that the two companies are considering a joint arrangement to buy terminal facilities and some other assets belonging to Ansett. A joint offer by Patrick and Virgin Blue for Ansett's Sydney terminal facilities may be the best hope of the failed airline's administrators, following the collapse of the Tesna sale deal. Patrick's shares closed $A0.702 higher at $A14.35 on 27 February.
