Industry calls for datacasting changes.

Australasian Business Intelligence, February, 2002

ABIX via COMTEX) -- Australia's Internet industry is critical of the government's treatment of datacasting. Peter Coroneos, CEO of the Australian Internet Industry Association (AIIA), said that the legislation regulating datacasting was too restrictive and had a detrimental effect on businesses. Coroneos proposes changes in the spectrum allocation. He argues that making datacasting accessible to more Australians would result in the creation of new business opportunities. The AIIA and the Australian Interactive Multimedia Industry Association will make submissions to the government regarding the matter.
