APN net falls, but it says outlook is rosy.

ABIX via COMTEX) -- APN News & Media recorded a net profit of $A48.2m in 2001. The result represents a decrease of 5 for the Australian-based media group. The share price of APN News & Media increased by 2.8 to $A3.70 on 5 March 2002. A decrease in sales by 2.7 to $A598.7m was recorded in 2001. Independent News & Media has a 45 shareholding in APN News & Media. APN News & Media is in the process of purchasing Wilson & Horton in New Zealand, a newspaper publisher.
