Wait for hard MAS numbers before buying airline's stock.

ABIX via COMTEX) -- Analysts prefer to wait and see the specifics of the reform agenda for Malaysian Airline Systems before revising stock forecasts. The Malaysian airline recorded a loss of RM1.1bn in the first nine months of 2001-2002. A loss is predicted for the airline in 2002-2003 by most analysts. One of the few analysts to have a "buy" recommendation on the stock is Timothy Ross from UBS Warburg. Mark Webb from HSBC Securities has a "sell" recommendation on shares in the airline and says that the details of the reorganisation of the airline are needed before anyone can be more positive about its prospects. The restructure is expected to see the creation of a new subsidiary.
