ABIX via COMTEX) -- Security regulations for the aviation industry in the US is making airlines based outside of the US unhappy. The airline industry believes that the US is asking airlines for the impossible by stating that airlines have to have a 97 degree of accuracy with the data they provide about passengers and crew to the US Customs Service. The International Air Transport Association and the Association of Asia Pacific Airlines are both criticising the new regulations. Qantas Airways in Australia is one of the airlines to be unhappy with the prospect of significant fines and trading restrictions for a failure to comply.
