ABIX via COMTEX) -- Community groups have raised concerns over plans to transport sodium cyanide through Fremantle, Western Australia (WA). Chemical manufacturer Australian Gold Reagents, 75 per cent owned by Wesfarmers CSBP, has applied to transport 20,000 tonnes of solid sodium cyanide annually from Kwinana to Fremantle's North Quay. WA Conservation Council convenor Rachel Siewert said small doses of sodium cyanide could be lethal.
