AIIA keeps a lid on PC recycling program.

ABIX via COMTEX) -- The Australian Information Industry Association (AIIA) plans to conduct a personal computer collection and recycling pilot program. The association said it was too early to release any details of the program. Meinhardt Infrastructure & Environment Group told the Enviro 2002 conference that the AIIA was working in co-operation with Environment Australia to devise the program. One of the biggest problems which had to be dealt with is how to make sure that confidential data on discarded media would not be used again by unauthorised persons.
