ABIX via COMTEX) -- There are new doubts about a proposed pay television strategic alliance between Foxtel and Singtel Optus. The two companies are said to have admitted that some aspects of the deal are in breach of the Australian Trade Practices Act 1974 (TPA). It is understood that Telstra and its 50-controlled pay television joint venture, Foxtel have informed the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) that the deal will involve "third line" forcing, which is prohibited under Section 47 of the TPA without the express approval of the ACCC.
