ABIX via COMTEX) -- Californians are outraged by revelations contained in internal memos of Enron. The memos, made public by the US regulators, show that Enron could be at least partly blamed for the energy crisis that hit the state in early 2001. Electricity bills are now as much as 67 per cent higher than in 2000. Bill Lockyer, California attorney general, says that there is strong evidence that Enron used schemes to maximise profits without any consideration given to interests of customers. The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission demanded explanations from 150 energy companies whether they had used similar schemes.
