China eases its blocking of news sites.

ABIX via COMTEX) -- Greater access exists for Internet users in China to the World Wide Web sites of some Western media groups. The media within China is strongly controlled by the Chinese Government and the Chinese Government also tries to control the flow of information by preventing access to some overseas news web sites. The web sites which Internet users are now allowed to access are those of The Associated Press, Reuters Holdings and "The Washington Post". Access to Taiwanese newspaper web sites is not allowed and access to the web site of Cable News Network (CNN) from the US is not allowed.
