Swedish stake in Sanford.

ABIX via COMTEX) -- Online financial services group, Sanford, may have a new major shareholder. Swedish technology provider OM has the option to purchase 15 of Sanford at $A0.35 per share before 31 August 2002. The shares closed at 36.5 cents on 16 May 2002. OM also owns the Swedish stock exchange, Stockholmsbursen. Sanford and OM plan to combine their resources to offer a third-party clearing house for brokers. Sanford will also become linked to major Australian exchanges. At present OM operates a clearing system on behalf of the Sydney Futures Exchange. Its system is also used by the Australian Stock Exchange for its options and futures trading.
