MacBank in $800m venture with US group.

ABIX via COMTEX) -- Australia's Macquarie Bank has launched a new $A800m industrial property trust in conjunction with ProLogis of the US. The new Macquarie ProLogis Trust will own a broad portfolio of state-of-the-art North American and Mexican warehouses and distribution centres. Units in the trust will only be available to Australia-based investors. The trust will issue a prospectus in June 2002 to raise an initial $A400m through an issue of units payable in two instalments - 75 in the first tranche and 25 due by June 2003. ProLogis, the largest listed industrial real estate investment trust in the US, will manage the assets, while Macquarie will manage the trust.
