ABIX via COMTEX) -- Dick Smith is searching for a new manufacturer, as Snack Foods, the current supplier, is involved in a takeover offer by Arnotts. The $A258m bid for Snack Foods is being endorsed by the company board and businessman Richard Pratt. Smith, who is licensing his Dick Smith Foods to Sanitarium Health Food Company, wants to keep the brand supplied by an Australian-owned company. Smith says its is increasingly difficult to find an Australian company that is not foreign-owned as the manufacturer for his products.
