Oracle's Linux clustering hits Australia.

ABIX via COMTEX) -- Oracle has released a new version of its 9i database. The program can be used on multiple Linux servers that are configured in clusters. The clustering technology was developed by Linux in co-operation with Dell Computer and Red Hat. New versions of Linux application server software and development tools are also available. Peter Thomas, director of 9i marketing for Asia Pacific at Oracle, said that companies planning to use a Linux platform for their applications would be particularly interested in the new database. He asserted that the popularity of Linux was growing in Australia.
