ABIX via COMTEX) -- South Australian electric power consumers face an increase in the price of wholesale power. An investigation into the pricing issue was started by the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission when a 60 increase in the price was revealed. Despite the investigation, the wholesale price rise has increased by 50 to $A85 per MW/h. Householders in the state will face electricity prices of about 30 in January 2003. Electricity generators in Victoria and New South Wales are accused of withholding power to force price increases.
