Foster's makes inroads WA.

ABIX via COMTEX) -- Australian beer and wine company, Foster's Group, is looking at ways to increase beer supplies in the Western Australian market. One option includes the construction of a $A100m brewery in the state. Foster's existing 50 million litre brewery at Fremantle is already stretched to capacity and, in order to meet demand, the company has to truck an additional 40 million litres from its Victorian and Queensland breweries. In the past year to mid-2002, Foster's Victoria Bitter and Carlton Mid-Strength brands have won the company just over 50 of the Western Australian market. Estimates are that demand in the State equates to around 190 million litres. Rival brewer, Lion Nathan, has a brewery in Perth that produces around 100,000 litres of beer. Other...
