SingTel's new cable project carries less risk.

ABIX via COMTEX) -- TeleGeography does not believe that a cable venture of Singapore Telecommunications in Asia has a high degree of risk. An analyst at TeleGeography, Alan Maudlin, says that the risk for the telecommunications cable venture in Indonesia and Thailand is lower than other bandwidth projects. Neither Indonesia or Thailand are connected to such networks as the APCN-2 system, the C2C system or the East Asia Crossing system. The ventures in Thailand and Indonesia by Singapore Telecommunications are in association with the Communications Authority of Thailand and PT Telekomunukasi Indonesia (PT Telkom).
