Fairfax opposes Foxtel deal.
Australasian Business Intelligence, June, 2002
Jun 04, 2002 (The Age
ABIX via COMTEX) -- John Fairfax Holdings has lodged a complaint with the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission. This concerns a proposed content-sharing deal between Foxtel and Singtel Optus, which Fairfax says will cause wholesale and retail prices to rise, and pay television content to decline. Negotiations between Fairfax and Foxtel concerning the former gaining access to the latter's network will depend upon the corporate regulator's ruling on the disputed deal.
