Martha's new ruffle.
Australasian Business Intelligence, June, 2002
ABIX via COMTEX) -- US businesswoman Martha Stewart is clearly in trouble. The share price of her Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia has been falling for two weeks after Stewart became implicated in insider-trading allegations. The stock recovered slightly after the company announced a 26 per cent rise in advertisements for the July issue of the "Martha Stewart Living" magazine. Stewart is accused of selling a parcel of ImClone shares, worth $US228,000, a day before the company made an announcement that the US Food & Drug Administration would not review ImClone's application for its cancer drug. Some influential friends of Stewart's are involved in the affair.
