ABIX via COMTEX) -- At least two Internet service providers (ISPs) operating in Australia are interested in buying OzEmail. The Australian ISP, fully owned by the WorldCom subsidiary MCI, may be sold as a consequence of WorldCom's problems. Primus Telecommunications and American Online Australia have both expressed interest in a possible acquisition and Telecom Corporation of New Zealand's subsidiary, AAPT, may also be interested. The potential sale price has been put at between $A80m and $A280m. OzEmail CEO, Justin Milne, reassured customers on 28 June 2002 it was business as usual in spite of WorldCom's financial problems in the US.
