Australasian Business Intelligence, June, 2002
South Australia - ABIX via COMTEX) -- Experienced computer software and hardware engineers are in extremely short supply in South Australia. The shortage of suitably qualified and experienced information technology (IT) workers is making it difficult for IT companies such as BAE, Motorola, SAAB Systems and Tenix to fulfil contractual obligations. The number of IT jobs available in the State has been estimated at 25,000, almost double the number in the late 1990s, with as many as 700 positions left unfilled. In 1995, Motorola had six members of staff. The company currently employs 400.
