Adelaide Brighton rights issue oversubscribed.

ABIX via COMTEX) -- Australian cement supplier, Adelaide Brighton, closed its rights issue on 7 June 2002. The oversubscribed offer raised $A50.8m, according to the company's MD, Mark Chellew. The one-for-seven renounceable rights issue was offered at $A0.75 a share. The issue was undertaken in order to strengthen Adelaide Brighton's balance sheet and provide funds for growth opportunities. Adelaide Brighton's share price closed at $A0.72 on 6 June.
