Nestle aims to ring up Philippine customers with messaging games.

ABIX via COMTEX) -- Competitions based around short message service (SMS) technology are a popular marketing technique in the Philippines. The Gartner Group believes that Filipinos are the strongest users of SMS text messages in Asia. This is a factor which marketing companies have to utilise. Mobile subscriber numbers close to doubled in the Philippines in 2001. Nestle and Globe Telecom launched a SMS-based competition in June 2002. The prizes on offer for mobile telephone users include automobiles. Globe Telecom also ran a trivia contest based around text messaging in June 2002.
