ABIX via COMTEX) -- VeCommerce introduced a revenue-sharing system to improve its client base. The Australian speech recognition company recorded revenue of $A23m in 2000-2001, with a net profit of $A41,000. For the year ending 30 June 2002, the prediction is that revenue will be approximately $A18m. The share price traded around $A1.30 on 15 July 2002, compared with $A2.40 in January 2002. The technology firm is one of those affected by the downturn in the technology sector. Ladbrokes in the UK and Pizza Hut Australia are some of the clients of the group. The managing director of VeCommerce, Paul Magee, says that the new strategy helped the company to deal with an unwillingness on the part of customers to pay upfront for the technology....
