ABIX via COMTEX) -- Dawson Consulting has surveyed 500 firms within the Australian supply-chain sector. The results of the survey were released in the week ending 19 July 2002. The companies were asked to provide information on their proposed supply-chain expenditures for the coming year. John Dunphy, the MD of Dawson Consulting, said that only 17 per cent of those surveyed had indicated that they planned to buy new supply chain software management systems. Instead, Dunphy said that firms were planning to upgrade existing systems through enhancement or through the purchase of additional modules. He stated that firms were seeking "more bang for their buck" as far as supply chain systems were concerned.
