ABIX via COMTEX) -- Sun Microsystems announced in early 2002 its decision to join Macquarie University's Liberty Alliance authentication project. The system will allow organisations a single sign-on for Internet users, giving them access to personal information on any member's web site without the need to log in, and will present a challenge to Microsoft's Passport offering. Sun and Macquarie's information technology department are about to launch discussions on electronic learning.
