Fertiliser shake-up could take time to hit shipping.

Australian chemical and fertiliser giant Incitec has sold its Crop Care business to NuFarm for $A75m. It has also announced plans to sell its industrial chemicals business to parent Orica, and plans to table an all-scrip takeover offer for the Pivot co-operative. Watching these developments closely will be Western Bulk Carriers, which recently secured a 12-month contract with Pivot to transport all of its supplies out of supply points. A merger between Incitec and Pivot could prove problematic for Western Bulk, as Incitec has traditionally used Anderson Hughes to carry out its broking needs.
