ABIX via COMTEX) -- Virgin Blue and its 50 shareholder, Patrick Corporation, want Sydney Airport to be declared an "essential service". They want this so that the airport can be brought back under the jurisdiction of the Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (ACCC). The call, made on 26 August 2002, came as Virgin Blue Airlines filed a summons in the New South Wales Supreme Court seeking the enforcement of an earlier 10-year agreement with Sydney Airports Corporation over access to nine former Ansett Australia terminals. ...
