ABIX via COMTEX) -- Investors are advised to wait before buying shares in APN News & Media. High debt levels have limited the Australian media group's dividends, and the advertising market remains uncertain. The purchase of Wilson & Horton boosted APN's revenue and net profit figures for the first half of 2002. However, the firm's performance was flat when judged according to measures such as return on capital ratios. APN's outdoor division felt the impact of the weak advertising market, with earnings before interest and tax falling 50 per cent to $A7.2 million. Half-year broadcasting revenue slid by 5.2 per cent.
