ABIX via COMTEX) -- Chemicals manufacturer, Orica, has lost a case in the Australian Federal Court. Justice James Allsop has ruled that Orica unfairly downgraded the position of an employee following her return from maternity leave. The employee had returned to work in a modified position that was clearly an effective demotion. The court has yet to rule on an appropriate penalty for Orica. The employee has claimed a total of $A263,600 in compensation and damages.
